December 20 - Lima to Cusco
Early morning, breakfast was light with fruit and breads. There were also some cake like treats. One thing about being early is we beat most of the traffic to the airport. We were all wondering why we just didn't stay at a hotel near the airport, but we are at the domestic airport today as opposed to the international airport yesterday.
Our Group
There are 18 people in our group. Most are Americans, we have 2 Russians, an Australian and us. Several of the American are Chinese or Taiwanese citizens. And OMG, some of the comments made last night, like to the Russians "are you from Kazakhstan?". Or to the Taiwanese, "China is wanting to take you over, but the Americans are going to protect you". And then there is one lady, very loud and always talking. Yap, yap, yap. Of course, she was behind me on the 3 hour flight from Santago the Lima yesterday.
Speaking of the flight... it was Latam and I was impressed. They fed us - a warm ham and cheese sandwich on a croissant like bun, beverages including beer and wine, all included. They also had movies and entertainment you could watch from your personal device. I started watching The Quiz Lady, but i didnt see the last 15 min of it. Maybe today. Our flight today is only one hour. Gave me hope, as we fly Latam home from Lima to Atlanta, then Delta from ATL to YYZ.
The flight was fine, uneventful as only an hour. We actually arrived early and adjusted our tour itinerary to free up some extra time the last day in before heating to Macchu Picchu. We did some sightseeing on the way to the hotel which is in Urubamba. I'm going to include hotel pictures here and leave the sights until I have more time. Internet is only available in the hotel and some restaurants and we don't spend much time in either, so it doesn't leave me time to sort and edit pictures.
Our Hotel is absolutely fantastic.
The room not only has a coffee maker but an espresso machine!
This is a couple shots of the view outside our little veranda in the room.

Dinner
All our meals are included. We order whatever we want - appetizer, main course and dessert.
Pasta with a delicious tomato sauce. I also had a Caprese salad that I forgot to take a picture of.
Pat had Salmon in a soy sauce sauce.
Sorbet (that is all Pat ever has for dessert.
Tiramisu
Every thing was delicious. Breakfast the next morning was equally good. I had French Toast and forgot to take pictures. It's was a very different French toast but yummy. Pat just had an omelet. They also have a tea station where you can get coca tea, munya tea (a local mint tea) coca leaves, and other items to help with altitude sickness.

More to come... might be a couple of days before I post. We go to Macchu Picchu tomorrow.
